Less than a 5 minute drive from Greystone Pool and you arrive in the sleepy little
picturesque fishing village of Polperro, renowned for it’s smuggling activities in
centuries past. There is still plenty for the visitor to see and do, with it’s quaint
whitewashed cottages, lining extremely narrow streets, charming harbour, museum,
model railway & village, pubs, restaurants and even a small beach (tide permitting).
The only way to appreciate Polperro is on foot and visitors must use the car park
on the right at the bottom of the hill, as vehicle access into the village is restricted.
Just 5 minutes drive from Greystone Pool and the resort of Looe awaits you. Looe
is actually two towns, East Looe and West Looe and are divided by the river. It has
a bustling harbour and fish market, numerous shops, pubs, restaurants, amusements,
boat trips, diving center, and beach. Fishing trips for mackerel, half or full day
wreck and reef fishing. Looe is also the centre for the Shark Fishing Club of Great
Britain. Should you want a little peace, then take a short trip (1 mile) out of the
town along West Looe Quay around Hannafore Point and enjoy the views across Looe
Bay to St Georges Island. There are three car parks in the town, however parking
is free along Marine Drive, Hannafore.
